Jesus Christ Will Return: Revelation 19-22

Craft: New Jerusalem coaster

God is preparing an eternal home for all those who put their faith in Christ!

Supplies: cork squares, Sharpie, colored paper, rubber cement

Write Revelation 21:2 across the top of each cork square.  Cut brightly-colored patterned paper into rectangles, roof shapes, and leaf shapes.

Direct the children to arrange the paper shapes to make buildings, towers, and trees, adhering them to the cork square with rubber cement.  Let them draw doors and windows, if desired.

God's Warning to Seven Churches: Revelation 1-3

Craft: Alpha and Omega suncatcher

Jesus Christ was instrumental in the creation of the world, and He will usher in its ending!

Supplies: paper plate, Contac paper, plastic index dividers

Cut out the center of the paper plate, leaving the edge as a frame.  Cut a square of Contac paper large enough to fill the hole for each suncatcher.  Cut alpha and omega shapes from the transparent index dividers.  Cut smaller mosaic-type pieces in various shapes and sizes.

Just before beginning the craft, peel the backing from the Contac paper square and press it into the frame from the concave side of the plate.  Give each child a plate-frame, an alpha, and an omega. Instruct them to place the alpha and omega on the sticky side of the Contac paper and fill in the empty spaces with mosaic pieces.  Punch a hole in the top of the plate to hang the suncatcher.

Church Responsibility: 1 Corinithians

Craft: Run to win! medals

Becoming a Christian is the beginning of the story, not the end: you're at the starting line, not the winner's circle!

Supplies: Gold glitter craft foam, markers, hole punch, ribbon, pony beads

Cut two approximately 3-in.-diameter circles from craft foam for each child. Use a permanent marker to write Run to Win! on one circle and 1 Corinthians 9:24 on the other one.  Cut one 36-in.-long ribbon for each child.

Have the children use a glue dot to glue the circles back to back, glitter side out. Punch a hole in the top, and thread the ribbon through.  Even the ends of the ribbon, fold them in thirds, and thread them through a pony bead; then slide it down to the top of the medal to hold it flat.  Tie the ends of the ribbon together so the child can wear it around his neck.

Paul's Ministry to Rome: Acts 21:17-28:31

Craft: Paper chains

Although Paul was put in chains for preaching the Gospel, the Gospel was not restrained!

Supplies: Cardstock, scissors, markers, tape

Cut cardstock into 8-1/2-in. by 1-in. strips.  Write the words of 2 Timothy 2:9 on the strips: "God's word is not held back by chains" (NIRV).

Give the children the strips and tape and show them how to make a paper chain.

Paul's Third Journey: Acts 18:18-21:16

Craft: Cross charms

Just as Demetrius sold shrines of Artemis, we can carry the cross with us, not to gain God's favor but as a witness to others.

Supplies: Plastic canvas, 1/16th-in. ribbon, lanyard clips.

Cut out cross shapes from plastic canvas.  (You can buy precut shapes, but the price increase is astronomical over cutting out your own shapes from a large sheet.  All it costs you is time.)  I cut each arm 4 squares across, and the cross is 16 squares tall.

Cut 18-inch lengths of ribbon, and tie a lanyard clip on one end.

Give the shapes and ribbons to the children and show them how to start at the middle top and lace around the edges.

When they are finished, tie the loose end to the lanyard clip.  The charms can now be clipped onto backpacks or belt loops.

Paul's First Journey: Acts 13:1-15:35

Craft: Clothespin airplanes

Paul traveled by foot and by boat, but missionaries today often travel by airplane to take the Gospel to far-off places!

Supplies: Clothespins, craft sticks, mini craft sticks, wire-edged ribbon, glue dots, fishing line.

Cut 6-inch lengths of wire-edged ribbon.  On one side, write "Pray for missions!"  On the other side, write "Psalm 96:3."

Cut 12-inch lengths of fishing line and tie a loop in one end as a hanger.

Give each child a clothespin, a ribbon, 2 craft sticks, 1 mini craft stick, and glue dots.  Show them how to attack the craft sticks with the glue dots to make the clothespin into an airplane.  Have them clip the end of the ribbon in the clothespin to make a banner for the airplane to pull.

String the end of the fishing line through the metal ring of the clothespin and tie it so that it can be hung as a reminder to pray for missionaries.

Jesus Gave the Great Commission: Matthew 28:16-20; Mark 16:15-16; Acts 1:3

Craft: Great Commission globe mosaic

Supplies: print-out of picture, blue and green paper, glue or rubber cement

Cut green and blue paper into various small shapes.

Give each child a print-out of the globe and verse and instruct them to glue green paper shapes in the land and blue in the oceans.
